Today, we walked down to the promenade. The Atlantic Ocean feeds this area. I was quite excited, as this is the second ocean I have now seen, but to be honest, it looked very similar to the Pacific - blue and wet!
Belem was beautiful. There were many statues, museums and memorials in this area. They seem to have knocked down all the ice cream shops to build them. I only saw one place that sold crepes, toast and other nice things, but Sopi would not let me have any. It was not a complete disappointment. The weather was lovely, the buildings and memorials were very big and impressive. My favourites were the Belem Fortress, a small keep that was just offshore, and a huge memorial to all the maritime explorers over the centuries.
We also saw a very large monastery called Jeronimo’s Monastery, and the Museu Coleção Berardo, a museum of modern art. I will write about that later.
Lisbon streets are very pretty. I love their coloured tiles and pretty windows. However, there was also a lot of graffiti all over the statues and walls. I have not seen it like this in Olso, Georgia or any of the other places I have visited. That made me a little bit sad.
Later , we went to the Jardim de Estrela, which is Portuguese for ‘Star Garden’. I didn’t see any stars,. But then, it was only 4PM.

The Torre de Belém was a really great looking place. I can imagine how it would defend the entrance to Lisbon.

I am a little lost bear. I have lost my owner, my friends, my home and my memory. I do have some cloudy memories of a little girl but I cannot see her face when I close my eyes. I cannot remember anything else about my life apart from that.
I think my name is Jumble. That was the name given to me by the old lady who found me.
I am trying to find my way back home using the postal service as a way to travel around the world.
